The World Health Organization has declared Coronavirus (COVID-19) a pandemic. As the circumstances surrounding COVID-19 continue to evolve very rapidly, BentallGreenOak’s property management team is taking significant steps to minimize the risk of contagion and maintain essential services at the Sun Life Building.
To this end, we have estimated that our building is currently occupied at approximately 30% capacity. In order to optimize our efforts, we will now modify the access to our property to “weekend” mode. To do so, only the main doors will be open. We ask that employees present their access card and/or identification and that visitors inform the security officer of the tenant they are visiting. For our agent’s security, we will delimit a perimeter to leave a distance of 2 meters between them and visitors.
We have also modulated the cleaning services schedule in order to maximize the amount of work in the common and occupied areas of the building.
Urgent calls will be handled on a priority basis while non-essential service calls will be handled at a later date.
Although we are not experiencing absenteeism problems to date, we have modified some services given the high level of this crisis and the low occupancy rate of the buildings. Our conference center and yoga space are closed until further notice.
As we consider the impact of staff absenteeism on our property management, we urge our tenants to establish appropriate emergency plans for their staff and premises based on advice from government and public health authorities. We will continue to make every effort to provide the highest level of service to our tenants while respecting the advice we receive from these same authorities.
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
